After graduating from his journalism studies in 1999, Peter Schong was asked by former college buddy Klaas Panjer and Rob van Steenbergen to feature in their independent no budget film Fluorescerend Bloed (Fluorescent Blood), playing the reporter Danny Berghorst alongside Bjorn van Mierlo. Schong's ideas were very much appreciated by Panjer and Van Steenbergen, and he quickly became the third partner on the project, writing and directing scenes. Schong also became the founding member of ChickenWings Productions, along with Panjer and Van Steenbergen. In autumn 2000 Fluorescerend Bloed was released and broadcast as a miniseries on a local television station in Amsterdam. In 2001 ChickenWings worked on their second no budget indie feature The Last Dutch Picture Show, starring Arjan Adelerhof as the tormented Evert Radboud, with Schong wokring as script writer, director and producer. Besides ChickenWings, Schong works as a music and technology journalist.
