Born in Detroit and raised in San Marino, CA Scott Liggett is a national Emmy Award-winning music & audio producer who has had a successful career as a musician, singer/songwriter, arranger, composer, producer, and executive. Scott received his classical training at the University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music (1967-1971). He then performed as a singer/songwriter for 5 years in the popular San Francisco group, The Stuart Little Band. Moving to Lake Tahoe in 1974 he played guitar and trumpet in the house orchestras for 2 years at Harrah's Lake Tahoe/Reno and Sahara Lake Tahoe Resort performing with the biggest stars in the world. Still, in Lake Tahoe, he founded a live-stage production company and produced original shows for 2-years in Las Vegas, Tahoe, Reno, Dallas, and Los Angeles. In 1980 Scott moved to Los Angeles to begin his career in Hollywood. He studied film scoring at UCLA (1981-1982). In 1997 he co-founded Media City Sound in Studio City which is celebrating 24+ years serving the Hollywood TV & Film community. In 2014 he founded LNL Partners, a cinematic graphic novel company producing projects for William Shatner and Stan Lee. In 2017 he partnered with William Shatner and founded Shatner Universe LLC, an entertainment development & production company in North Hollywood. Scott is also VP/Executive Producer at Spirit Music Collective in Studio City. As a musician, Scott has performed shows with artists including Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Sarah Vaughn, Bob Marley, Charlie Rich, Shirley MacLaine, Dean Martin, Don Rickles, The Carpenters, The Smothers Bros, Boz Scaggs, and Van Morrison to name a few. As a music producer, he's worked with all major TV & Media Networks, MGM Grand Las Vegas, NFL Super Bowl, American Greetings, William Shatner, Howard Stern, Robert Goulet, Little Richard, Aaron Sorkin, Martin Short, Netflix's Chelsea Handler shows to name a few. As a composer, Scott's music has been heard in over 1,000 TV shows, over 200 commercials & promos as well as the (2) headline planetarium shows "Centered In The Universe" and "Signs of Life" at the Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles. Scott is a founding member of the (IDA) International Documentary Association as well as a member of the Television Academy, SAG/AFTRA, and the Society of Composers & Lyricists. In 2020 he received the University of the Pacific's Distinguished Professional Service Alumni Award. Scott was elected in 2020 to the Board of Regents at the University of the Pacific and its campuses in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Stockton.
