Luis Pedron is a professional actor/filmmaker living in New York City. His credits include co-starring roles in Laurice Guillen's "American Adobo", Alec Baldwin's "The Devil and Daniel Webster" and Mark Ruffalo's Photo Assistant in the Hit Jennifer Garner Movie "13 Going on 30." Luis resourcefully created his own opportunities, utilizing his degrees in Filmmaking and Acting. Luis produced, directed, and acted in 4 short films (all collaborations with Mark Levitt). One of which - "Receptionist Smart" has won 3 awards: Independent Achievement Award in the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival (NYIIFVF) 2002; Best Comedy - Festival of the Macabre, Latrobe, PA 2002 and Grand Goldie Award - Goldie Awards in Film Excellence, Palatka FL 2002 and was screened as part of the International Festival of Cinema and Technology World Tour 2004 in NYC, Toronto, Canada and Brisbane Australia. Luis in 2003 received a Best Directing award and Best Documentary Video at the NYIIFVF for his documentary, "VIP Very Important Pinoys" honoring Filipino American seniors in Elmhurst Queens NYC. His last short film, "Party Games" (co-directed by Mark Levitt) won the Best Director Award - Short at the NYIIFVF 2004. His latest short film is "Problema", starring Ricky Davao, one of the Philippine's A List Actor co-starring Luis' parents and Antonio Alvaira. It was uniquely edited from 200 still pictures. It had its successful screening at the recently concluded Filipino Arts and Film Festival 2006 at the ImaginAsian Theater NYC and at the Stinging Filmmakers Film Festival 2006 (Nettles Artist Collective) in NYC both last June 2006. Multo (Ghost) is Luis Pedron's Directorial Debut, he co- produced and co-directed this full feature film project with Sherwin Morada, which is in the Horror genre casted with an all Filipino-American ensemble. (Festival Circuit 2007) Luis Pedron recently worked as an Associate Producer and Casting Director for the Filipino TV TeleNovela "I Luv NY" for the Philippines' Number TV Network GMA 7. The show was shot in locations in NYC and recently premiered in the Philippines as the Number 1 Show in the Primetime Slot. Founder of the Entertainment and Community website called Fanclubx.com, Luis Pedron supports Filipino and American artistic and socially aware events. Luis Pedron through the Fanclubx.com team has covered Prestigious Festivals including NY Film Festival 2003, 2004, 2005; Sundance Film Festival 2006; SlamdDance 2006; Tribeca Film Festival 2006 and NYC Horror Film Festival 2005. Fanclubx.com coverage has expanded to not only doing film reviews but also Video Blog Interviews with the help of Sherwin Morada as Segment Producer/Videographer and Photo Coverage with the help of Jude Tan as Red Carpet Photographer. Luis Pedron's community life is also busy. He is a proud member of the Philippine NY Jaycees and CORE. Luis is a Board Member of FAHSI (Filipino American Human Services Inc) and of Kalusugan (Health) Coalition and Project AsPIRE.
