Inna Swinton is a New York based actress, writer and comedienne, who has worked in film, television, and theater. Inna was born in Riga, Latvia and immigrated to New Jersey when she was nine. She graduated from Yale University and NYU Law School and speaks fluent Russian. Inna has played many Chekovian heroines, appeared on Law And Order, has worked with the Barrow Group and at Ensemble Studio Theater. She has worked with directors Marc Meyers (My Friend Dahmer), Alexander Olch (Metrograph Theater), Seth Barrish (director of Mike Barbiglia's Broadway shows), Maria Kataeva (from Moscow's top directors program), Jill Campbell (Mr. Chibbs), Constantine Makris, Inna Braude, Natalia Campos, Mike Nader. Inna writes and performs stand up comedy in New York appearing at numerous clubs including Dangerfields, Gotham Comedy, Eastville, and Broadway Comedy. Inna's Off-Broadway festival play Kooky Spook played to critical acclaim at the Duke Theater and is being turned into a short film. The play is an autobiographical story about her immigrating to America in the 80's. Inna Swinton's first novel The Many Loves of Mila has been described as "Bridget Jones meets Anna Karenina". Kirkus Reviews wrote: "Swinton has an ear for dialogue... and a deep understanding of the quirks of Russian Jewish immigrants in New York. A riveting read, this novel will ensnare readers in the first chapter and not let up." Inna's short play the Part, won the award of best play at the Strawberry One Act Festival and was performed at workshops at EST and The Barrow Group. Inna's personal experience with #metoo director James Toback inspired The Part. The LA Times wrote an article about women who have turned their #metoo experiences into art and Inna was interviewed for this article. Inna is also a successful Momager of three busy young actors. She is married to Canadian Rolfe Swinton, the head of Clan Swinton, a family descended from the prominent nobles of the kingdom of Northumbria, and a distant cousin of actress Tilda Swinton. Inna is also known as Inna Idelchik Swinton.
