Marie-Marguerite is a Canadian-Egyptian-American actress, born in Montreal. She grew up the youngest of 5 children in a trilingual household, speaking French, English, and Arabic, and trained in dance and acting from a young age. Her first role was as Allegra Zane in Fox Kids' Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension. After a long international search, her ethnic background and her professional dance training helped her secure the role. From 2010 - 2012, Marie-Marguerite was the face of Canadian Rogers' Telecom My5 campaign, through the Vancouver Olympics. Marie-Marguerite trained at the Conservatoire de la Danse de Montreal, The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, and the Upright Citizens' Brigade. For years she studied with the late Jacqueline McClintock. She has a BA from McGill University in Cultural Studies. Throughout her acting career, Marie-Marguerite did environmental and social justice advocacy. She was one of the first Canadians trained to deliver Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth presentations and toured the country delivering talks. This eventually led her to do her Masters' in Environmental Science and Policy at Columbia University. In addition to acting, Marie-Marguerite writes and produces, and has won awards for her theatre directing. In 2016, she was an Inaugural Sundance and Youtube New Voices Fellow for the series The Mission, which she co-created with Benedict Moran, Patrick Sabongui and Chris Agoston producing. Marie-Marguerite works internationally and continues to do advocacy and impact producing.
