Vladimir Leschinski received his Masters of Science Degree from The Moscow State University, Cybernetics and Computer Science Department in 1989. His diverse background in film and television has led him to play key roles in such projects as the Camera One/Le Studio Canal+ feature film Burnt by the Sun (1994)(Burnt by the Sun) by Nikita Mikhalkov where Vladimir supervised the fireball digital effect on set. The film won an Academy Award in 1995 in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Vladimir was the head of the kernel team and created the memorable visual effects for the first Russian blockbusters Night Watch (2004)(Night Watch) by director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted (2008)). In 2004-2007 he has been supervising the visual effects for Day Watch (2006)(Day Watch) by director Timur Bekmambetov, the fantasy Wolfhound (2006)(Wolfhound) by director Nikolay Lebedev, the thriller Captivity (2007) by director Roland Joffé (The Killing Fields (1984)) etc. In 2007 Vladimir Leschinski became an active member of Visual Effects Society (V.E.S.), first Russian ever accepted. His first visual effects project for Hollywood was Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007) by director Zach Helm for Walden Media. At present time Vladimir also provides his service as a visual effects designer/director as well as performs his usual control of a visual effects shooting on set. Co-owner of Dr. Picture Studios, Leschinski also serves as its primary Visual Effects Supervisor.
