Atanas Kiryakov was born on March 22, 1939 in Varna, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Higher School of Film Arts in Paris in 1963. He has worked at the BNT (1966-70) and at Vreme Studio (1970-82). He is the author of more than 100 films.
