Shawney Cohen is a Canadian filmmaker who started his career in computer animation. He's been known to go by the name "Sean Cohen" when working on animated and commercial projects. His work has appeared in many motion pictures including Resident Evil and The History of Violence. "The Manor" was Cohen's feature directing debut and chronicles his life growing up at his parent's strip club. The film was nominated for Best International Documentary at the Zurich Film Festival and was selected as the opening night film at Hot Docs. In 2019, Cohen produced and directed the CRAVE original documentary "Rat Park" about a forgotten addiction experiment from the 1970s. His film "Dopesick" gained international attention for being the first feature documentary to uncover the street use and origins of Fentanyl. The film was part of a VICE Series which won a Canadian Screen Award in 2017.
