Julie Hall

Julie Hall (nee Marshall) is a screenwriter, script consultant, lecturer and voice over artist. Julie began her career as a child actress. After completing her education she moved into broadcasting (4 years with South Africa's 5FM) and advertising copy-writing. In the 90's she moved into TV writing and has worked on many series as a writer, story-liner or head writer. In 2005 an invitation to train as a Story Editor saw her add expand into writing, consulting and mentoring for features. Julie has worked as Story Editor on multiple projects with SA's film commissions, including commercial break-outs: Hard To Get, Happiness Is A 4 Letter Word and Keeping Up With the Kandasamys. As a screenwriter she has completed My Zulu Wedding, The Dam, Magic&Mining and is in development with adaptation projects What About Meera and Journey Into The Unknown. She was a 2016 WGSA Muse Award Finalist for Best TV Drama for Tempy Pushas Series III.
