Stuart Pearce started his professional footballing career with Coventry City in 1983, playing 52 games. After two years Brian Clough bought him for Nottingham Forest (transfer fee £240,000). He played for 12 seasons with Nottingham Forest, winning the League Cup in 1989 and 1990. He also finished runners up in the 1991 FA Cup, when Forest lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur with Pearce scoring from a free-kick in that game. Left Forest to play for Newcastle in 1997 and then moved to West Ham after two years. In 2001 he moved to Man City and is still there as a coach after retiring as a player three days before he was 40. He made his England debut against Brazil in 1987 and has earned 78 caps for his country, scoring 5 times. Missed a penalty in the World Cup semi-final in 1990 when England lost to West Germany. However, he made amends in Euro 1996 when he scored from the spot against the same opponents but England still lost in the semi-final.
