Karun Thapa

Karun Thapa, born in 1965 (in Myagdi, Nepal), is a Nepali IT Professional turned Digital Film Editor and 3D Animator. In 1994, Karun introduced Digital Film Editing (AVID) and 3D Animation and VFX in Nepal in 1992. He has edited 20+ Nepali Films including Ragat (1995- debut), Shankar (1996), Afno Ghar Afnai Manchhe (2001) and Sagun (1997), etc. He won the Best Movie Editor Award and Best Lyricist award in 1998 and 2002. He has written over 85 songs for Movies. He has also created TV Ident graphics for Nepali TV channels like Nepal TV, Shangrila TV, Image Channel, Himalaya TV, Krishi TV, etc. Karun has been in the Jury Member of major film awards in Nepal, e.g. National Film Award, Kamana Film Award, Nepal Film Technicians' Association Award, Nepal Motion Picture Association Award, Nepal Film Actors' Association Award, etc.
