Farid DMS Debah was born in 1976 in Paris, France. He lived his early childhood in Algeria where he familiarized himself with musical world and recorded at 14 years his first single with his older brother and sister. At 16, he returned to France and founded his first computer company. Curious with entrepreneurial mind, he carried on, gave up computer and at 18 became an anchorman and producer at a local radio station. At the same time, he was working towards a degree in show-business. Shortly after obtaining his diploma, he began organizing world music concerts in and around Paris. At 20, by means of his first new short film production company DMS Productions, he directed his first short film entitled Venin Mortel (Mortal Venom) starring Elodie Navarre. The story gave a vivid portrayal of a drug addict. The film was selected at several European film festivals, including the Video library of Paris and film archives of Algiers. Encouraged by this success, he started writing the script for his first feature film. At 21, Farid was appointed by Foreign Affairs Department to work with High Council of Youth in Algeria. In this position, he was in charge of dealing with bi-national youth and participated in several seminars in Algiers. He also had the unique opportunity to meet United Nations Secretary General Koffi Annan during the Youth World Festival in Lisbon, Portugal. At 24, he started the film production company Evasion Films and vowed to dedicate himself to his real passion: cinema. He became award-winner Beaumarchais Best Script award in 2002 (Beaumarchais du meilleur scénario de l'année 2002) for Le Génie de la Théière (The Genie of the Teapot). He also directed the short film Art'n Acte Production (awarded at several international festivals and broadcast on TPS Star and Shorts TV) starring Cristiana Réali and Rachid Arhab. He also engaged in animated film productions such as The Firecracker (Hermès prizewinner of "Grand Prix Hermès" at Frejus Film Festival in France) and Flying Baby directed by Yves Courbet. Complementing his talents as a script-writer, he worked as executive producer and director on several music videos (Daddy Yod, Just a Man, Takfarinas, etc.) for well-known French musical production companies such as M6 Interactions and Sony BMG. In August of 2004, he agreed with his partners to rename Evasion Films to DMS Debah Films. In October 2004, he directed and produced a short film in 35mm Scope on the anti-personal mines staring Elodie Navarre, entitled Le Bourreau des Innocents (The Executioner of the Innocents - Audience Prize at Saint Maur International Short Film Festival - 2006, Youth Jury Award at International 24 Short Film Festival - 2007 and broadcast on Cine Frisson). On January 8, during the Mayor New Year 2005 speech, he was awarded the Medal of Honor of the city of the Kremlin-Bicêtre. In the course of the same month, he produced a short film by the emerging director Franck Allera entitled Sentence Finale (Final Sentence), including great talent such as Hans Meyer, Didier Flamand, Gabrielle Lazure, Marie Merger and Elodie Navarre. During the summer of 2005, he produced and directed several commercials for the Algerian market (like Mobilis, a national cellular phone operator). In September 2005, he wrote an introduction to the biography of his friend Ilario Calvo entitled "A gauche de l'écran" (On left of the screen). He also prepared a 90 minutes documentary about the death of the Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. In 2006, he wrote and produced 2 short animated films (3D) entitled Namoos, Duel sanglant (Namoos, Bloody Duel) and Namoos, Partie de pêche (Namoos, Fishing party) starring two crazy mosquitoe(broadcast on SHORTS TV). He develops, currently, the adaptation of these 2 films in series TV. In 2007, he decided to appoint the services of an agent, on the one hand in the U.S.A (DDO Artist Agency - Corey Smith), on the other hand in China (Xun Wang Agency - Jessica Wang) to branch out into international business. He opened in June 2007 with his brother Yassine, one of the most important studio of recording in the world. Studio DMS Debah Sound is equipped with the only console NEVE VX 60 of France (last version of the legendary series V and only 12 in the world). The two brothers open, also the same month, a musical label: DMS Debah Music. Farid DMS Debah is also working on the production of his first feature film. The shooting is scheduled for the upcoming months. He is additionally adapting one of his scripts entitled Nocent into a novel.
