"Langley is not only a good actor, but also a real professional in the business. He gets it. And that makes a difference when you're trying to get through a tough day." ~ Steven Gary Banks (Exec Prod - 'Teen Spirit', ABC Family/ Walt Disney Television) Raised in Ohio by his mother, Carol Langley (deceased), Langley is a long time survivor of a rare malignant tumor diagnosed at the age of 11 months. Orphaned at 16, Langley graduated High School and continued on to college at Ohio University studying Social Sciences. His true passion was in performance, both singing and drama. He later transferred to a smaller University (Shawnee State Univ), with a budding Performing Arts program, in Southern Ohio where he dove heart-first into the music and theatre department. A founding member and co-sketch writer of S.S.U.'s weekly Improv & Sketch show, 'The Black Rat Players'. Langley was told by his Theatre Professor that he was "without a doubt, a character Actor." Which he first took as an insult until really learning what that meant. Langley soon found himself performing in several University and local stage productions, taking on multiple roles in each, all the while assisting in stage management, and Directing. Langley eventually realized that he needed more than the basis of education that school had to offer. He sought out the guidance of a newly cemented friend and teacher, Actor James Taylor Hayes ('Archie Bunker's Place'), training specifically in character development and Acting for Television. In 1998, Langley earned the National Audition Scholarship to AMDA (NY)'s Studio Program for Stage/Film/Television. In 1999, Langley relocated to the Southeast region and quickly booked his first featured role on the popular WB teen drama, 'Dawson's Creek'. In 2001, Langley earned his SAG eligibility from Director DJ Caruso ('The Shield', 'Disturbia') on the short lived Showtime television series, 'Going to California'. Over the last decade, Langley McArol has worked with such highly respected Actors as Scoot McNary ('Halt & Catch Fire'), Michael Irby ('Halt & Catch Fire'), Kim Wayans ('Reckless'), Barbara Alyn Woods ('One Tree Hill'), and Brad William Henke ('Going to California'). Langley has continued to hone his chops in comedy as a Screenwriter, using his training as an Actor to apply to story and character development on the page. In 2007, Langley met Screenwriter Don Payne ('The Simpsons', 'Thor'), and began a friendship and mentor/mentored relationship. Don supported production of a few of Langley's short films until Payne's death in 2013, after a long battle with Cancer. As an Indie Filmmaker, Langley has Produced and/or Directed several short films and commercials for both Film Festivals and online streaming. In 2011, he dedicated his award winning short film, "Superhero" (the story of a young boy battling Leukemia) to both his mentor Don Payne and Langley's mother. In May of 2013, Langley founded, and continues to Chair a film festival 'Best Screenplay' award in memory of his late mentor -- "The Don" Award for 'Best Produced Indie Feature Screenplay at the CFI Film Festival in Wilmington, North Carolina (childhood home to Don Payne). 2016, Langley relocated to Los Angeles, CA.
