Born in Austin, Texas, Brad grew up in and around Dallas making short films with his siblings and childhood friends. It was in high school he started writing feature-length screenplays, with an eye on someday directing and producing his own work. While attending Stephen F. Austin State University, Brad continued his writing as producer the campus radio station, KSAU 90.1 FM. During his two years there, Brad created various radio shows, wrote news stories and live announcer commercials. After graduating with a degree in Radio/Television/Film, Brad kept writing and finished his first feature script, Bronze Honor, which was a finalist in the Lone Star screenplay competition. While continuing to write spec scripts, Brad began working as a copywriter for various advertising agencies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. His extensive national radio and television campaigns include the critically-acclaimed RadioShack campaign, featuring NFL commentator, Howie Long, actresses Teri Hatcher, 'Vanessa Williams', Daisy Fuentes, baseball star Alex Rodriguez, and Hollywood veteran Ving Rhames. In 2000, Brad, along with 3 childhood friends, all impassioned with the same desire to make movies, formed a production company, Triumvirate Pictures. The first project was a documentary on the famous battleship, USS Texas. Battleship Texas: The Lone Star Ship (2001), written by Brad, won 2 major Texas film festivals and garnered honorable mentions in the USA and Santa Monica film festivals. After several more years working in Dallas area ad agencies, Brad opened his own private creative writing and consulting firm - Brad Thompson Creative. Today, Brad serves a variety of local and national clients with broadcast, advertising and marketing solutions.
