Charlie Guillen is an American writer, director, producer, musician, and actor from Sierra Madre, CA and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London. His theater and film career began in New York City at the age of 20 after completing conservatory studies at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. After two national tours with Romeo and Juliet and Don Quixote, he returned to Los Angeles and continued to act on stage and work as a grip on film productions. While working as a grip on The Woman Chaser (Robinson Devore, director) he was asked if he was an actor and if he would be an extra in the film. That was Guillen's first film credit as an actor playing the role of "Pedestrian." Soon after, there were more small roles in film and lead roles on the stage. He then enrolled at UC Berkeley and received his bachelor's degree from the School of Global Studies. A few years later, he was accepted to UCLA's School of Film and Television where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production and Directing. While there he directed short films, wrote screenplays, and produced commercials. Guillen was born Carlos David Guillen.
