George Perry

George Perry was a well-known UK film journalist, a veteran of the staff and occasional film critic of The Sunday Times and the author of many film books. He said his proudest achievement was having persuaded his editor, Andrew Neil, to retain the services of veteran film critic Dilys Powell. George Perry's many books include Movies from the Mansion: History of Pinewood Studios, Forever Ealing: A Celebration of the Great British Film Studio, Steven Spielberg: Close Up - The Making of His Movies, The Life of Python, Sunset Boulevard: From Movie to Musical, and The Great British Picture Show. He was an active member of the London Critics Circle and suggested starting its Dilys Powell Award.
