Hjalti Rúnar Jónsson started acting at a very young age. His first role as Mickey in Peter Pan at The Reykjavík City Theater and at the Akureyri Theatre Company in his late teens and early twenties where he played Rocky in the Rocky Horror Show amongst other roles. Hjalti also did TV and radio in his early years portraying Gulli in the 2013 film Ferox but perhaps most notably Boas in Ikingut (2000) for which he was nominated for best leading male actor at the Edda Awards. Hjalti graduated from The Iceland Academy of the Arts with a B.A. Degree in 2016. While still in drama school Hjalti got a small role on IFC's Documentary Now! and post graduation he has worked in the independent theatre scene in Iceland, in big productions with the Icelandic Opera as well as working on Icelandic films such as Fullir Vasar (2017), Tryggð (2019) and The Wreck (2019).
