Linda Midgett is an Emmy award-winning writer, producer, and showrunner with a proven track record of developing hit and critically acclaimed series. She has directed, written and supervised more than 600 hours of programming for networks such as NBC-Universal, The History Channel, Discovery and National Geographic. Her credits include Starting Over, the syndicated daytime reality series produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, and The History Channel's iconic series, Gangland. Linda cut her teeth as a writer and producer during the 1990s, first working for PBS affiliates, then at CNN International. In the late 90s, she began writing and producing for The History Channel, A&E, ESPN, and The Weather Channel. She was instrumental in developing and supervising two long-format series for The Weather Channel, including Storm Stories, which generated the highest long-form documentary ratings in the network's history. Linda went on to showrun NBC's Starting Over, a hit reality series that won three National Daytime Emmys. In 2007, Linda wrote and produced Through My Eyes, a documentary about teens struggling with suicide, depression and eating disorders. Through My Eyes was nominated for a regional Emmy, and was awarded the national Voice Award for excellence in mental health programming. In 2008, she wrote and produced The Greek-Americans of Charlotte for PBS, which won a regional Emmy. In 2012, Linda founded Midgett Productions, LLC, a boutique production company specializing in film, documentary and reality TV. The company's projects include The Line, a documentary on poverty commissioned by Sojourners, a social justice organization founded by Jim Wallis; Neale Bayly Rides: Peru, a motorcycle adventure docu-reality series that was sponsored by BMW Motorrad and ultimately aired on SPEED Channel; and The Stranger, a film on immigration reform commissioned by the Evangelical Immigration Table.
