Deborah Gene "Genie" Summers was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 11, 1928. She started taking ballet lessons at age 4. She was given a modeling contract after being discovered by Bob Hope while he was on tour. After this, she was put under contract by MGM, and had bit parts in "The Merry Widow," "Million Dollar Mermaid," and "Skirts Ahoy." She later choreographed the dancers at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Genie also starred in local theater productions in Phoenix, Arizona, including parts in "On Golden Pond" and "The Glass Menagerie." She was survived by three daughters, two grandsons, a granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters.
