Shari Berman is an award winning filmmaker and a member of Film Fatales who focuses on making innovative pictures with unique styles. Her two features (My Life as Abraham Lincoln and Sugar!) and breakout short (The Trial of Jack) have all garnered awards and accolades. Shari produced, directed, wrote and edited her feature film My Life as Abraham Lincoln - a non-linear film that combines experimental film style and black comedy. The film received rave reviews from Variety, Film Journal International and The New York Times. She is the director and editor of Sugar! which stars Tony Award Winner Alice Ripley and SAG Award Winner Robert Clohessy. Shari combined the style of the 1920s expressionists with the anaglyph technology predominantly used in the 1950s to create her 3-D Expressionist film The Trial of Jack. This film played at over 30 film festivals worldwide including the Sarasota Film Festival, the St. Louis International Film Festival and the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Shari grew up in the Bronx and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and dog. She also volunteers at East Rockaway Jr/Sr HS as a choreographer for their school musicals. Support arts in education!
