Ansgar Frerich

Ansgar Frerich is a trained Media Designer for Sound & Picture. After moving to Berlin, he founded the Sound Studio "Hörwerk Frerich & Beck" and later co-founded BASIS BERLIN, one of the leading post-production houses in Germany. Still working as one of the most renowned German Re-Recording Artists for directors like Wim Wenders, Samuel Maoz or Shirin Neshat, he is also Partner and Producer with Eva Kemme and Tobias Siebert at BASIS BERLIN Filmproduktion. For his Sound he received two time the German Film Award and a Nomination at the HPA Awards for the Television Series Dark (2017) by Baran bo Odar. His films as a producer won more than 50 international awards including Sundance, Krakow, Vision du Réel or El Gouna and Nominations for the Asian Pacific Film Price, the Arab-, the European- and the German Film Awards. For Of Fathers and Sons (2017) by Talal Derki he received an Academy Award Nomination for Best Documentary. Ansgar Frerich is a member of the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy.
