Dave Kushner has been working hard as a musician since the mid 80s and until recently he has gone virtually unnoticed. As a member of Wasted Youth he was on board when they released their first album "Black Daze". Soon after Kushner left the band and began working with the band Infectious Grooves, he stayed on-board for their first album but was not featured on their subsequent albums. He then joined the group Electric Love Hogs which was comprised of future band members of Orgy and Goldfinger. Despite shows with an early incarnation of Stone Temple Pilots and a tour with L.A Guns the band never released another album. Kushner then worked with Danzig for a short time. After releasing work with 'Cyco Miko' he toured with the band 'Zilch' at which point he met up with future band-mate Duff McKagan who was touring with his band 'Loaded'. He also worked as musical director on Dave Navarro's touring band for his solo album 'Trust No One'. After McKagan disbanded Loaded he began working on 'The Project' with Kushner and past Guns N' Roses band-mates. After a grueling search for a lead singer the band found Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots fame. After sobering him up and helping him kick his heroin habit the band was christened 'Velvet Revolver'. The band's first release, 'Contraband', has since sold around 4 million records, spawned three hit singles and been nominated for three Grammys, winning one.
