Kate grew up in Indiana, just thirty minutes from Chicago. At age 9 she started playing cello and at age 15 she started drinking coffee by the gallon at the local truck stop. When high school and the thrills of Hoosier life lost their glamorous sheen she headed off to New Orleans to get her bachelor's degree. It was in the big easy that Kate started the whole acting thing. She learned how to act but not how to make a life out of it. So this leads to the big questions. Where can one work as a professional actor? What city could expand the perspective of this displaced youth and prove to be the spectral opposite of New Orleans? Being rather indecisive she picked two. Kate has been living in the twin cities since 1996 acting on Stage, in Film and TV and working as a Voice Over Talent in the commercial world. Kate often works overlapping jobs in the "Industry" not only for the love of her craft but for the extravagant lifestyle of her dog, Moe. You may ask, "Why does she continue in this all too frequently unforgiving business slash art form? Well... Because you can't tell stories to yourself. These are just a few of the Theater companies Kate has been a member of; Guthrie Theater, Guthrie Lab, Jungle Theater, Ten Thousand Things, Eye of the Storm Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Fifty Foot Penguin Theater, Outward Spiral Theatre, Actors Theater.
