Mike Johansen

A Location Manager based in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Calgary, Alberta. 25 year member of the Directors Guild of Canada. After spending the first 6 years of his film career working his way up the Assistant Director department, Mike Created and Produced/Directed 65 episodes of the adventure sport lifestyle series "Drop In". The series was based on the never ending road-trip of action sports athletes and took Mike and his cast & crew to every corner of B.C., New Zealand and parts of W. USA. Then, co-founded a video streaming platform and Produced hundreds of hours of unique, series content, acquired a library of films and shows from independent Producers and managed the music licensing as its COO & Director of Content. Mike has now settled near Bragg Creek in the foothills west of Calgary close to where he was raised, in the busiest region for film in Alberta. He draws on his personal life interests of year-round mountain pursuits and his previous industry experience to specialize in in location scouting unique film locations with an early-eye on production logistics.
