Dubmatique is a Canadian hip-hop group formed in the 1990s in Montreal, Quebec. Groupmates Otmc, DiSoul, and DJ Choice are the first French-language hip-hop group from Canada to have a number one single on the francophone pop charts. They have released four albums: "La force de comprendre" in 1997, the self titled "Dubmatique" in 1998, "Influences" in 2001 and "Trait d'union" in 2009. "La force de comprendre" is certified platinum, and "Dubmatique" is certified gold. At Quebec's gala to recognize achievements in the music industry called "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they were the first local hip-hop group to receive trophies. Throughout the years, they won "Group of the Year", "Best Rock Alternative Album" (Their first year at "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they didn't have a Hip Hop section), and "Best Hip Hop Album" twice. In 2019, they were the first hip-hop group to win the "Classic song award" at the Socan Gala (an event to celebrate Canadian musicians that had an important success).
