Some years, a couple of children and several dress sizes from being one of Sydney's premiere Hip Hop dancers, Christina Donoghue is acting and producing theatre in Sydney's South West. In recent years she has completed degrees in Writing, Journalism and Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong. Trained ATYP (Australian Theatre for Young People) Christina has recently brought the character of 'Marlene' to the Casula Powerhouse stage in Alana Valentine's verbatim play, Parramatta Girls. She is encouraged by the increase of diverse casting within Australian Productions and actively works to promote Black artists within the arts in Australia. "As an African American / Cherokee / Irish Australian actor in Australia, working as an actor has been challenging. Diversity in storytelling is so important to the way people see themselves and others in the world, I love breathing air into roles that make people feel and think."
