Najeh Davenport was first drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2002 draft out of Miami, where he graduated with a degree in theatre. The big, bruising back had 830 yards and 13 touchdowns as a fullback for Miami. After being drafted by the Packers, they decided to convert him to halfback. After fellow halfback Ahman Green went down with a knee injury, Davenport showed just why the Packers made their decision, when Davenport avereged 4.9 yards-per-carry. Davenport's good season changed when he was poked in the eye while returning a kick-off, and it required surgery on his eye-socket. His surgery landed him on the Injured Reserve list, which made him ineligible to return for the rest of the season. He recovered from his surgery, and during that off-season put his theatrical degree to use, acting as the Night Club Owner is "Full Clip" starring Busta Rhymes and Xzibit. It was announced by Head Coach Mike Sherman that during the 2003 season, Najeh would play a more integral part in the Packer offense, to allow Ahman Green to fully heal from his injury from the prior season.
