Maria Giannakopoulou was an Greek character actress of theater and cinema. He was born in 1918 in Athens and first appeared in the theater in 1938 with the troupe of Vasilis Argyropoulos in the play 'When the Wife Rules'. She also had important roles in cinema, in the films The Drunkard (1950) in 1950 as Horn's mother and Madalena (1960) as Vougiouklaki's grandmother where she appears briefly. She played at the "Art Theater" in "The Bald Soprano" by Eugène Ionesco in 1961. She died at the age of 49 from cancer in July 1967.
