Douglas K. Stuart acted in many plays in New York City until writing a screenplay that secured him representation at ICM in Los Angeles. After a cross-country road trip, Doug was hired to rewrite a screenplay at 20th Century Fox for the producer, Arnold Kopelson. When Doug's agent later moved to the William Morris Agency, Doug moved with him and was then hired to write the screenplay, "Meant to Be," an adaptation of a Harry Turtledove novella which was optioned by Landscape Entertainment (Bob Cooper, producer). After finishing the script, Doug was hired to write another script for an independent feature film called "Getting Hal." The budget was $2.1 million and it was produced in 2003 (Tony Markes, director). Doug then went on to co-write the script, "Twisting the Vinyl," with filmmaker Frank Coraci (director of "The Wedding Singer," "Around the World in 80 Days," and "Click.") Doug is working on several new projects, most notably the romantic comedy spec script, "A Hero's Journey," and an untitled sports drama.
