A versatile filmmaker and actor, Seth McClellan has produced narrative and documentary films and appeared in studio and independent productions. McClellan produced and directed the documentary King In Chicago (PBS-Chicago and Education Channel) about Martin Luther King's work with the Chicago Freedom Movement. He also directed the short doc Bevel's Last Sermon, a deathbed portrait of the controversial Rev. James Bevel, Dr. King's closest collaborator and architect of major campaigns in the Southern Civil Rights Movement, that screened at festivals around the world. He co-produced Chicago Heights, an experimental narrative feature adaptation of Winesburg, Ohio, that Roger Ebert listed on his top-ten Best Art Films of 2010. He then produced, wrote, directed and starred in the critically-acclaimed narrative feature Creative Writing. As an actor, he has had principal roles in national commercials and lead and supporting roles in indie films that have played many festival, including Sundance, and been theatrically released. McClellan lives in Oak Park, IL and was listed in 2014 as one of the 50 most influential Chicago filmmakers by New City Magazine.
