Director Aarne Neeme was born in Germany in February of 1945 in the family of Estonian refugees. When Aarne was four his family moved to Melbourne, Australia. At the age of nineteen Aarne went to college in Sydney and he became one of the acknowledged directors in theaters. Aarne has worked in many Australian theaters through out of his long career. At the beginning of the 1990s he worked in the National University of Singapore. In 1999 he brought Australian play Friends and Money onto the stage of Viljandi Ugala Theatre. It is his first and so far, last work in Estonia. Neeme states that although he has learned to think and communicate in English, he still reckons himself Estonian.
