Her first feature, "Girls on the Wall", about a group of teenage girls in max-security prison who put on a musical about their crimes, garnered an Emmy. Ross directed Dan Savage's "It Got Better" series featuring LGBTQ+ icons like Jane Lynch, Wanda Sykes and RuPaul. She was nominated for another Emmy on "Who Do You Think You Are?", where she directed Regina King, Molly Shannon, Bryan Cranston and others.
