Indigenous Canadian Inuk, best known for starring in Nanook of the North (1922), considered by many to be the first modern documentary film, despite rumors that most of it was staged and that his wife was an actress. Allakariallak died in 1924 from tuberculosis, but around the time of his death it was claimed that he died from starvation.
