Gabriel Luke (Gabe) Egan is an Australian actor who was born in Melbourne September 30, 1976. His parents Maureen (Bartlett) and Michael Egan are both school teachers and relocated the family to Bendigo in country Victoria where Gabriel was raised. Gabriel was awarded the highest mark in the state of Victoria for Year 12 Drama, and moved back to Melbourne at the age of 18 to pursue an acting career. Gabriel immediately began making a name for himself playing dangerous characters on Neighbours (1985), Blue Heelers (1994), Good Guys Bad Guys (1997) and Thunderstone (1999). Gabriel's a handy basketballer having represented Bendigo (The Braves) as a teenager, and his profile began to rise when he became the host of channel 10's NBL Slam for two seasons. This position involved interviewing his Bendigo team mates, Glen Saville (Illawarra Hawks), Matt Campbell (Illawarra Hawks) and Aron Treharne (Perth Wildcats) who had gone on to pioneer the Australian basketball league. Gabriel made his film debut in David Caesar's highly acclaimed drama Dirty Deeds (2002), which saw him teamed up with Sam Worthington, co star Toni Collette and John Goodman. Gabriel wreaked havoc on Home and Away (1988) as Sean Jeffreys, older brother to Aden Jeffreys (Todd Lasance), and worked opposite Ben Mendelsohn in the acclaimed Australian series Love My Way (2004). In 2011 Gabriel enrolled at 16th Street Melbourne Acting Studio to study drama full time. Gabriel has studied under world renowned drama teachers Susan Batson and Ivana Chubbuck.
