For the past 20 years, Sam has worked as a writer, director and has won international acclaim for his short films, theatre, and commercial work. His first short, DUCK CHILDREN, stormed the festival circuit picking up the coveted Canal+ award, a Jury commendation at Clermont Ferrand and the Jury award at San Sebastian. This was followed by the Film Council funded POOL SHARK, which won international awards including The Salvation Films award at the ICA (institute of Contemporary arts). His third short, TEA BREAK, won the Silver Méliès at San Sebastian and was nominated for best European Fantasy Short. Sam made a Music Video BITE HORSE for the cult band Mississippi Witch that won the Best Music Video award at the Housecore Film Festival in Austin. His commercial directing portfolio includes prominent brands such as Levi's, Absolut, Chivas Regal, Ballantine's, and Lee Jeans. As a writer, Sam has collaborated with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Vertigo Films, and the BFI. His inaugural feature film, THE SEED, premiered at Beyond Fest in 2021 and was acquired by SHUDDER/AMC. The film's score also received critical acclaim upon its release through Invada Records, alongside the soundtracks for STRANGER THINGS and DRIVE. Sam resides in London and is currently developing TV and feature projects, poised to continue delivering captivating and thought-provoking stories.
