Norma Jean Straw is two-time Emmy award-winning director and producer for her work in Biz Kid$ (2008) and Hip Hop Harry (2006). She has written and directed over 100 episodes on nationally broadcasted TV channels PBS, Discovery Kids and TLC. Biz Kid$ (2008) was nominated 17 times in its 65 episode run. Norma produced independent feature film Evergreen (2004), which premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and released to 122 theaters through a direct partnerships with AMC Theaters. In 2012, Norma became director of creative development at B47 Studios, a full-service video production company in Seattle, WA. She develops TV shows, commercials, movies and multi-platform experimental entertainment properties. In 2014, she directed B47's original short film Fresh Pair (2014) which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival as a part of the Fly Film Challenge. She also is a Board Member of Washington Filmworks, a non-profit that managers film and production programs in the State of Washington. In her past work, Norma created civic engagement programs, helped launch the national Americorps program, developed and stratigized plans for non-profits, government agencies and small businesses. She successfully lobbied to change laws and create new programs at the local, state and federal levels. From 1998 to 2003 Norma was Vice President of VAIN, a hair salon, art gallery and boutique in the heart of Seattle, WA. In 2010, She was President of the Capitol Hill Council. Norma graduated from Evergreen State College in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Arts in International Political Economics and Visual Arts.
