Helen Proimos is a SAG/AFTRA actress/singer. Helen enjoys work on stage and screen. Helen is portraying Mrs. Dottie Mahoney, the mother of recording star, Eddie Money, in his new autobiographical musical, "TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE" directed by John Blenn. This musical is based on Money's rise to stardom in the 1960's after his departure from the N.Y.P.D. Helen Proimos sings one of Eddie's new original compositions, "I'll Always Want The World For You". On the Cablevision public access TV talk/reality show, STAGE SCREEN and IN BETWEEN with HELEN, Helen is host/producer and sometimes brings you behind the scenes on her own acting jobs to interview celebrities, show rehearsals/talents, and everything 'in between'. Some of Helen's latest theater credits include, Mae Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie, Mrs. Strakosh in Funny Girl, and Marion Hollander in Don't Drink The Water by Woody Allen. Helen has had roles in many award-winning independent films. Being an accomplished horsewoman, Helen Proimos was Anne Heche's horseback riding stunt double on Another World. Helen has been in commercials, music videos, and soaps. Helen also sang with a doo-wop group opening for The Platters and other notables. Helen Proimos was acting coach to Brandon Hannan, who played Vito Spatafore, Jr. ('Chasing It'-Season 6, PT II) on The Sopranos. Hannan was a Contender for a Primetime Emmy Award and Screen Actors' Guild Award for that role. Helen is especially proud of the lead role she had in the movie, Taught To Hate, which not only won prestigious awards both nationally and internationally, but was an Academy Award qualifying short film. It screened in Cannes as well. This film has been shown and discussed in schools and communities to help stop hate crimes and bullying.
