Mike Ogden

Mike is an award winning filmmaker with thirty years of film & television industry experience. Mike enjoyed several years working behind the camera on a variety of projects and genres to a high technical level, working with film and video for many clients including the BBC, ITV, Granada, Channel Four and the BBC as well as advertising, pop video and blue chip corporate clients. In 2001 Mike formed Binary Films, a UK based production company which went on to win several narrative film-making awards including BAFTA/Kodak, Commonwealth Film and the British Council. Mike also formed a relationship with UK Film Council and regional film agency North West Vision, developing several screenplays, ultimately winning over a dozen awards, helping emergent directing and writing talent towards their first industry exposure. During this time he also retrained his skills with MEDIA Film Business School, ARISTA, New Producers Alliance and The Script Factory in film production, script development, film finance and distribution. In 2007 he was involved with the viability and research for what has become a successful film & TV production hub 'The Sharp Project' helping to secure employment, attracting productions to the complex which houses stages, post facilities and production partners. Acting as a consultant, Mike used his knowledge and contacts to investigate the viability of film & television production to expand into a deprived area of East Manchester. The stages now house HETV productions from Sky, Netflix & Amazon. Mike now works as a line producer and script consultant having recently completed work on 'Blank' for Caged Film Ltd, producer Rebecca Clare Evans and director Natalie Kennedy.
