MaryAnn Hu is from Los Angeles, CA. In addition to her television and film credits, she made her Broadway debut in the musical "Miss Saigon". She most recently has appeared on Broadway in My Fair Lady and Disney's Frozen as Queen Iduna. She has appeared numerous times as Bloody Mary in Lincoln Center's Tony award winning revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" directed by Bartlett Sher, has also appeared as Lady Thiang in the Tony winning revival of "The King and I" starring Ken Watanabe (also directed by Sher), and in the revival of Sunday In The Park With George with Jake Gyllenhaal directed by Sarna Lapine. She recurred for a season on the NBC sitcom "Whoopi" opposite Whoopi Goldberg, as her chain smoking, drinking, poker buddy "Soo Lin". She is a longtime student of Wynn Handman and a student at the Uprights Citizens Brigade in both Los Angeles and NYC. She performs on the Indie Improv scene with the teams Open Relationship,The PickleBacks and the musical improv team, Baby Grand. Proud Theater panelist for the National Youngarts Foundation as well as adjunct professor at NYU and USC, she strongly believes in the integration of self care and mental health in fostering the next generation of young artists and performers. She likes french fries. Married to Jazz Bass player Dave Phillips.
