She is an actor, director, writer, and filmmaker. Sylvia's outward ambition, drive, and determination has always allowed her to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of South African society. Never short on energy, Sylvia has always kept busy in one form or another; whether winning or organizing beauty contests, flying, instructing aerobics classes, furthering her studies, or pursuing her acting career - which is her passion. Sylvia became one of South Africa's first Black Air Hostesses with Bop Airways for four years. Enjoying flying, she continued to pursue her aspirations for a further three years with Flitestar Airways and rose in the ranks to become Chief Cabin Attendant - holding that position for three years. Whilst flying for Flitestar Airways, she realized that she held a deeper desire: to act. She did these, together, for some time, until eventually she turned all of her attention to acting. She is best known in South Africa for her role in the 90s drama series Ifa Lakwa Mthethwa, Dina Lebaji and guest starred in Going Up. She guessed starred in a BBC TV show Soldier Soldier. Upon her graduation in 2012 from NVCC, Sylvia wrote a script about a culturally based wedding of an African American man and a South African woman called Hayi Bo. The story is told through dance; displaying the art and culture of South African nationalities called Zulu, Tswana and Shangaan, whilst combining forces with African American art. Written, produced and directed by Sylvia Mashinini Morse,Hayi Bo was filmed in the town of Southbury, CT at Platt Farm June 22nd 2013.
