Samantha López Speranza stepped on her first movie set at the age of 8 as an actress, and she continued acting until she was 21, when she decided to take the leap behind the scenes. In 2008 she graduated with honors in Communication Sciences doing a Filmmaking specialization, at Iberoamericana University in Mexico. While she was studying, she worked at Corazón Films and Filmmates production companies as an assistant director , and as personal assistant to filmmaker Fernando Sariñana. Meanwhile, she directed her first music videos, documentaries and short films, and also started working as a music photographer and correspondent for Warp Magazine, which she still does today. In 2009 she moved to London, where she studied a master's degree in Directing and Screenwriting at the Central Film School, and also several directing actors courses at the London Film School. Since then, she has worked as personal assistant to director Marcelo Piñeyro and to the actress Salma Hayek with whom she continues collaborating today, as an acting coach and script supervisor. In 2010 she moved definitely to Madrid, where she has developed most of her career. She was Content and Development Director and script analyst at Zeta Studios for three years, and combined that job with still photography and directing work of music videos and making of for films as "Hitman Bodyguards Wife", "Competencia Oficial (Official Competition)" or "The Roads no Taken". In 2021 she directed two episodes of "Sin Huellas (No Traces)", an original series for Amazon Prime that will premiere in March, 2023, and in 2022 she directed two episodes for the third season of "HIT", a multi-awarded series for TVE. Her latest horror short film, "Los Pies Fríos (Cold Feet)", which filmed also in 2021, has just been premiered at the Screamfest in Los Angeles, one of the largest genre festivals in the United States.
