Educated at Concordia University in Montreal, Peter Cureton was primarily a stage actor in Montreal and Ottawa. Diagnosed HIV-positive early in his career, he regularly spoke in schools as an HIV educator, and became best known for his autobiographical 1993 play "Passages". He died in 1994 at his parents' home in Ottawa, at age 28.
