Priya Ayyar is an actor and writer with a BFA and MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Her acting credits for television and film include The Thick Of It from ABC/SONY/BBC, directed by Christopher Guest and written by Mitch Hurwitz, The Papdits for CBS/SONY (The Ant Hines Project for FOX), Law & Order: Criminal Intent, All My Children, Cosby, Hard Cold Facts written by Coleman Hough, and Earheart for IFC, and The Children of War Documentary with Barbara Kopple. Theater credits include War of the Unheard at NYSF/The Public Theater, Aminta directed by Alessandro Fabrizi, and The Road Home written by James Lecesne and directed by Lawrence Sacharow which premiered at The Asia Society in NYC and was presented at The International Peace Conference in The Hague, Netherlands. Priya traveled and worked with young people from Cambodia, Tibet, Bosnia, and India to create The Road Home. It was instrumental in bringing worldwide attention to the plight of children living in the midst of war. It subsequently toured Moscow, Bosnia, Croatia, Italy, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, and Boston. She has also done plays and staged readings with The Barrow Group, Provincetown Playhouse, The Joseph Papp Public Theater, Women's Interart, and River Arts Repertory. Writing credits include two multi-character solo shows, Karmic Fusion performed Off-Broadway at HERE Arts Center, and Miss Great Bliss Falls developed at Fordham Lincoln Center. Most recently she wrote and performed Losing Remote Control, a special presentation for Comedy Central performed at the Comedy Central Stage in Hollywood.
