Freedom Bridgewater was born Aubrey Lashewn Bridgewater in Memphis, Tenn. He is the son of Evelyn (Leake), a Memphis Radiologist , and Charles Bridgewater. As a child, he realized he wanted to be a professional Football player, after serving in the USN and playing in the Military Football league being voted MVP, he was invited to NFL workouts, He later found the acting bug while serving in SD and landing roles on Fortunate Son and Play'd with Stu Seagull productions and later Meeting Denzel Washington, who would later be a mentor. After Moving to Los Angeles and Joining a Theatre group in LA where he garnered 13 theatre nominations with 2 Best Actors wins for his role as Levee in August Wilson's Stageplay "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and as Wendell in the play "Before it hits home', he entered into film and tv. Freedom's extraordinary range of talent is evidenced by his body of work on Stage. Other credits in film are "How Sweet It Is", "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone", and "Morenita, el escándalo".
