David B. Stewart III, born and raised in Bucks County Pennsylvania, was influenced by the work of fellow Pennsylvanian filmmakers George A. Romero and Bill Hinzman from an early age. In 1992 he founded S&H Productions along with friend and fellow filmmaker/actor Sean Hutcheon. In 2011 he started his current production company Dapper Cat Pictures. He began screen-writing in 1992 and by 1999, had made two feature length movies. He enjoys working in the indie horror film scene and shares in the S.O.V. (Shot on Video) era of the 1990s. Primarily self-taught in various aspects of the craft, he started out learning how to edit in High School on a dual deck S-VHS system and later editing Mini DV on Adobe Premiere. He also studied Cinema/Video at Bucks County Community College where he received his Associate of the Arts with Honors. Among other things he also enjoys creating the production design for his films. "Mise en scene" being widely overlooked by his audience in the film "Maplewoods" aka "Operation: Nazi Zombies" he likes to point out the fact that he designed everything you see right down to the special forces unit's custom arm patch on their uniforms. While mostly considering himself a "behind the scenes" person, he occasionally enjoys acting.
