Sandra Sanchez, a Capitol Hill native, developed an affinity for performing when she began ballet classes at the age of 3. Over the next 14 years, she trained at such prestigious academies such as the Washington School of Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet School, and the Chautauqua School of Dance. At the age of 17, Sandra moved to Los Angeles to attend The University of Southern California. A MENSA member and vegetarian since birth, she graduated with a B.S. in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the Keck School of Medicine in 2002. While working at USC as a research assistant for a Type II Diabetes study, Sandra competed in her first scholarship pageant to help finance her graduate studies and was awarded the title of Miss Los Angeles 2003 in the Miss America preliminary. During this pageant she also took home awards for Best Talent, Best Swimsuit, and Rookie of the Year. Within months, Sandra had her first starring television role on MTV's hidden camera show "Burned." Since then she has had multiple appearances on Discovery Channel and and Starz!, among others, and has made guest appearances on The Style Network, ABC Family and Comedy Central. Sandra hosted CBS.com's Emmy-nominated "Greek to Chic", the first online programming created by a major network, and is a regular contributor to ABC.com interviewing the network's biggest stars as well as promoting the 2009 Academy Awards. She has also made an impact online as the creator of orGLAMic, the popular eco-luxury blog. Sandra now works at NBC Universal as a segment producer for Access Hollywood's sister show, Hollywood Green with Maria Menounos. She also, alongside screenwriter Stacey Harman, developed and is executive producer of MySpace TV's wildly successful "See Jane Date." Not abandoning her on-camera roots, Sandra is in her third year of hosting a weekly music video show for FOX's Fuel TV. She most recently appeared as an eco-correspondent on Discovery Channel's Planet Green and as a reporter on the series finale of The Shield. When she's not working, Sandra enjoys traveling, fine dining, and spending time with her rescued dog.
