Meruert Tusupbayeva was born on August 6, 1973 in the town of Bayan-Auyl in the Pavlodar oblast (province) of Kazakhstan. Graduated from the National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenev with the specialty "Music Theater Actor" in 1995. In the same year was dispatched to the Kazakh Theater of Young Spectator named after Ye. Musrepov, where she successfully played the following characters: Ulpan in the play «Ulpan and Yeseney » by Ye. Musrepov, Kunbala in «Gold Chunk» by M. Akynzhanov and A. Ashimov, Nuri in the play «Socrates» by M. Shakhanov and Ch. Aitmatov and etc. Along with her theatrical career Meruert Tusupbayeva is also known as a pop-singer. She was the first Kazakh-singing performer to produce a professional, full featured music video for the song "Kimai seni baramyn" ("So hard to part from you", music by T. Mukhamedzhanov, lyrics by Sh. Sariyev) in 1996. This clip was rated as one of the three best music videos of Kazakhstan in the national contest «Altyn Zhuldyz» (Gold Star). Meruert Tusupbayeva made the first steps in her film career by acting in «Ompa» of the director S. Narymbetov. She played Shamshiya. She also played Zhamilya (a balerina) in "Hello, doctor" a feature short of the director B. Mustafin. Since 1998 - vocalist of the Almaty Oblast (Provincial) Philharmonic Society named after Suyunbai, actively participating in cultural events both locally and abroad. In 2000 received an Award from the Union of Youth Union of Kazakhstan for masterly performance and for promotion of songs of Kazakh composers. She was also the first Kazakh singer to use Auto-Tune (also known as the "Cher's effect") in the techno-pop song "Bilei, Bilei" (Dance, Dance) in duet with the pop-singer and composer Erjan Nurhassen. In 2006 she put on a solo concert in the Republic Palace, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of her career. Since 2009 - teacher in the National Art Academy named after Zhurgenev and in the Kazakh All-Girls University. Titles: Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2006). Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences (2009).
