Matt Kennedy was born in Ontario, Canada. He spent his teen years growing up in New Brunswick and later attended Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia where he was enrolled in the Acting Program. He quickly made a name for himself in the theater and moved to Calgary, Alberta where he continued to have success in the theater. While in Calgary, he co-founded Swingdog, a theater company, and received rave reviews for several of his performances including, Mr. Orange in the stage version of Reservoir Dogs. It was while working in Calgary that he snagged his first feature film role, Steve the ranch hand, in Texas Rangers (2001). Matthew now makes his home in Vancouver, Canada, where he continues to work in film and has recently (2003) directed a documentary.
