Anton Berezin is an Australian actor, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Berezin is best known for his roles in major commercial musical theatre productions such as Evita (2018-2019), Once (2014-2015), Doctor Zhivago (2010-2011), Wicked (2008-2009), The Producers (2004-2005), Cabaret (2002-2003) and Cats (1999-2000). His film and Television work has included roles in Newton's Law (2017), The Divorce (2015), Jack Irish: Black Tide (2012) and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (2012). He has been a prolific producer of Musical Theatre and Family Theatre through Life Like Company, a production house he established in 1998 with his wife, actress and writer, Theresa Borg. Berezin was born in Leningrad in 1972 in the former Soviet Union, the first born child of Boris, a computer programmer and Zina, a concert violinist and music teacher. The family arrived in Melbourne in 1976 as refugees when Berezin was three years old. Berezin speaks fluent Russian and learned his ancestral language, Yiddish, as an adult. After graduating from Melbourne High School in 1989, Berezin commenced a LAW/ARTS double degree at Monash University. Having sung and played Cello throughout his childhood, he quickly became active in the Student Theatre community at University. During his third year at University, Talent Agent and Film Producer, Stacey Testro, saw him perform the eponymous role of "George" in "Sunday in the Park with George" at Monash University's Alexander Theatre and recruited him to the agency. Berezin immediately won roles with Victorian Opera, Melbourne International Festival and Commercial Producer's such as John Frost and Really Useful Company. In 1994, at age 22, he was cast as understudy to Anthony Warlow in The Secret Garden and deferred his studies. Berezin remains a client of Stacey Testro.
