He's been involved in the martial arts since 1968, and turned his passion for the arts into a career in teaching and stunt coordinating. He's worked with a wide variety of actors, both as a coordinator, martial arts instructor and personal trainer. Among his more well-known students are Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Irons, Tom Welling, Woody Harrelson, Alan Tudyk, and Lana Parrilla.
